THE GREAT JUNGLE ADVENTURE 3 DAYS / 2 NIGHTS

Day 01: Iquitos - City Tour - Momon River Lodge

Our guide collects you from the airport or your hotel in our private bus.
You will be accompanied by a permanent English speaking guide during the whole trip.
City tour of the principal attractions of Iquitos: The floating city of Belen also known as the Venice of the Jungle, the Main Square, the Catholic Cathedral, The cast Iron House built by Eiffel, Quistococha Zoo and Lake.
We board our speedboat for the trip up the Nanay and Momom rivers.
Visit to Pilpintuwasi Butterfly Fram (optional, additional charge of US$5.00 per person entance fee).
Visit to the Yagua Indigenous Tribe
Upon arrival at the Lodge we are warmly greeted with a welcome drink made of local tropical fruits.
Hike through the jungle to explore the mysteries of the rainforest. Here our guide will explain the different species of medicinal plants which grow there and other plant, insect, bird, butterfly and animal species.

Day 02: Lodge

(Optional) we rise at the crack of dawn, around 5.30 a.m., for an hour long canoe ride upriver to enjoy the great variety of bird life.
Visit the Jibaro Indigenous Tribe.
Fishing to harvest the abundant variety of fish in the river.
Ayahuasca Ceremony led by an experienced Shaman (this is optional and there is an extra payment for this service).
(Evening) Our Guide fascinates us with tales of the jungle.
(Evening) We have a musical jungle jam session using a variety of local acoustic instruments.

Day 03: Bora Indigenous Tribe – Serpentarium – Iquitos

Visit the Bora Indigenous Tribe
Visit to the Serpentarium to see a collection of snakes and other exotic animals
Excursion on the Amazon to see the pink or grey dolphins (extra charge for fuel only)
We head back to the city of Iquitos.

What is included:

  • Free transport from the hotel or airport in our private bus to the port of Bellavista on the Nanay River. Boat ride in our own boat to the lodge.
  • Transport by boat to the Yahua and Bora Indian villages and the Serpentarium and back to the port Bellavista. Transport by our own private bus back to the hotel or to the airport.
  • Free use of all the installations at the Lodge which include the awimming pool, the look-out tower, the musical instruments, the games room, the hammocks, the canoes, etc.
  • Three meals a day during the whole period that tourist is inside the lodge: breakfast, lunch and dinner. It the tourist arrives mid-morning then lunch will be served; if he/she arrives mid-afternoon then dinner will be served. The same applies for the final day.
  • Bottled water from a water fountain next to the bar and swimming pool, fresh fruit juices during breakfast and lunch.
  • A permanent English speaking guide will be assigned to the tourists during their visit to the lodge and will stay with them until they leave. Guides are available in other languages upon request.
  • All tours mentioned in the program are included in the price.

What is not included:

  • Plane tickets, airport taxes
  • Visit Butterfly farm (additional; charge of US$ 5.00 per person entrance fee)
  • Visit to the dolphins (additional; charge 10 gallons of gasoline)
  • Shamanic ceremony (extra payment US$ 30.00 per person per ceremony)
  • Food and drinks in the city on the fist and last day.
  • All consumption at the bar, which included bottled soft drinks and alcoholic beverages.
  • Purchases made from the Indian tribes for their handicrafts
  • Tips to the Lodge staff on the final day (for good service if the tourists are happy) and tips to the guide for his service (if the tourists are happy).
  • Any other personal costs not mentioned in this program.

What to bring with you to the Jungle:

  • Insect repellent
  • Good walking shoes that cover the heals (to avoid twisting your ankle)
  • Large sun hat
  • Sunglasses
  • Sun cream
  • Camera with plenty of film and batteries
  • Flashlight/torch to use at nighttime (plus spare batteries)
  • Lightweight raincoat with rainproof hat
  • Umbrella in case of rain
  • A good book to read, plenty of magazines (to ready while you relax)
  • Pair of binoculars
  • Water flask (fresh drinking water for jungle treks)
  • Swimming costume (for swimming in our large pool or in the river)
  • The native Indian tribes in the area are very poor and love to receive gifts of used clothing, old toys or anything at all that the tourist does not need and wishes to donate. Also, any items for children such as paper, pencils and pens are very gratefully received
  • (For couples) Bring protection (there are no pharmacies near bye!!)
