MOUNTAIN BIKING MARAS AND MORAY 1 DAY

A one day mountain biking trip near Cusco, Peru. Cycling through the Andes, to the town of Maras and the experimental terraces of Moray. Suitable for beginners and up. We travel around 35km on dirt roads and single track, passing through small villages. With fantastic views of the valley and the hummingbirds flying around, the abundance of butterflies you are reconnected with nature. Lunch at Moray with a visit to the salt mines of Salineras. The perfect excursion for a free day. Biking class 2 – 3.

QUESHWACHACA 2 DAYS / 1 NIGHT

This two day adventure is for all levels, with cycling and rafting. This trip is situated in the South of Cusco and is a rarely visited area making it an ideal place to participate in these adventure sports.

Day 01: Cusco – Keswachaka
Transfer 2 hours by car from Cusco to Pomacanchi Lake (3,600m). We cycle on the rarely used bumpy road around 20km between Pomacanchi Lake and Acopia Lake, (here we will have lunch). We have another transfer of 30mins visiting the tiny volcano of Yanaoca to the Abra of Yanaoca. From here it is a 35km descent to Keswachaka Bridge (literally Grass Bridge). The last used Inca Bridge hanging over the Apurimac River. This is best visited at the beginning of June (date flexible) for the annual renewing ceremony of the bridge. Camping here. Biking class 2 – 5. There are options for all levels.

Day 02: Keswachaka – Cusco
Early rise and 2 and a ½ hour transfer to Chuquicahuana Bridge. Here our raft will be ready waiting for us. Upon arrival we will be briefed and change into our river rafting gear, ready for some serious white water rafting fun of class III and IV. This particular part of the river offers a section that is 5km of pure rapids. Finish rafting at Cusipata around 2pm in the afternoon where we will have lunch. Transfer to Cusco. Rafting class III and IV.
